Quote of the Day: "The heart has reasons that reason does not understand." - Jacques Benigne Bossuel

I think I'm in love with college. :]

I know I haven't really been keeping up with this thing lately and there are a lot of blanks I'd have to fill in, but just plainly speaking I am much happier here than I have been in a long time. The change in scenery was really what I needed... and the freedom. (Of course, the three-day weekends are definitely a bonus.) I feel like being away from home has done me a lot of good, and it's only been five weeks now.

So right now I'm taking Western Art History and Finite Mathematics. Unfortunately Art History is at 8 each morning, but it's such a cool class and I love learning about it. I wish I'd known half of what I know now before I went to France and Italy, but now I have more to look forward to in the future when I go back. :] Math will never be a subject I love, but I'm doing so much better in Finite than I ever did in Negin or Simmons.

One thing I really like is that a lot of people have come up to visit us here! Alexa stayed up here with me a couple weeks ago and we saw Harry Potter (duh) and met up with some friends. I've also gotten to hang out with Erin, Oliver, Dominic, Chou, and Jared. My seniors on yearbook came up this week for Camp Orlando, and so my friend Jess and I went to go see them at Downtown Disney last night, which was so much fun. :]

Hmmm, what else? I'm officially a "Journalism Pending" major (since the j school doesn't accept students unless they apply after a certain number of credit hours), but I'm probably going to change it after the spring after I take my intro class. Also, I've been trying to get involved in some things - every week I go to barbecues and services at Chabad (which is a Jewish group) and it's crazy because I'm really not that religious and even when I was, I was from a really liberal sect of Judaism, but Chabad is generally a lot more religious. I don't think it's changed my views on religion at all, but I like the idea of remaining connected to the culture and learning more about it and meeting people there. I'm also doing some online news site called Knightnews, but haven't written anything yet. We'll see where things go.

Anyway, just had the sudden urge to update. Hope everyone is having a good summer!
